Amy Burkert is the founder of GoPetFriendly.com, a pet-friendly trip planner and blog with a social following of more than 240,000 and 1.9 million pageviews in 2018. Shortly after launching the site in 2009, she and her husband, Rod, and their dogs, Ty and Buster, moved into a Winnebago and hit the road. They’ve spent the past nine years exploring America’s highways and byways together.

In 2017, the foursome embarked a 15,000-mile, 48-state tour of the top pet friendly attractions in the United States. As soon as they rolled to a stop, Amy began self-publishing the award-winning book, The Ultimate Pet Friendly Road Trip. With more than 200 full-color photos, the book serves as an inspiration for people who want to travel with their pets and provides the tools they need to plan their adventures.

With Ty and Buster easing into semi-retirement, Amy expanded the blogging team to include five pet travelers who conduct “paws-on-the-ground” research and share their experience on the Take Paws blog.
